This chawan is Mino Ware, a traditional pottery produced on Honshu Island in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Mino Ware is known for its wide ranging styles of kitchenware and is very popular in Japan.

Teaware care instructions:
- Hand wash only. Do not use in microwave, on stovetop, or in dishwasher.
- Before first use, soak in warm water and dry thoroughly.
